It was all smiles to residents living in Laikipia’s slums after a well-wisher donated them food to cushion them from hunger owing to the current financial strains.

The residents of Withare, Githira, Kahuruko, Kijabi and Corner Bahati in Laikipia East constituency who said they barely have a meal a day and have been impoverished by the slum life could not hide their joy saying the food donation offered much reprieve to them.

Peter Kamau, one of the beneficiaries said the good gesture by Tatua3 Foundation gave them hope to be positive despite the seemingly hopeless slum life.

“In the slums, we hardly have two meals a day. It’s a struggle each day. Even clothing is a problem. This good gesture has restored some hope to and we hope more well-wishers would chip in and extend their support to slum children,” said Kamau.

Milele FM presenter Chris Da Base joins the Tatua3 Foundation staff in giving food donations donated by the foundation to the slum residents of Withare, Githira, Kahuruko, Kijabi and Corner Bahati at Withare ward in Laikipia East constituency
