UDA Grassroots Elections Postponed to April 2024

Kenya’s President Dr William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party has postponed grassroots elections from December till April next year

In a notice dated Saturday, November 18, 2023, UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malalah announced the elections will take place next year on April 12, 19 and 26.

“Following a deliberative meeting of UDA’s National Steering Committee chaired by the Party leader, H.E. President, William Samoei Ruto, PhD, CGH, the Party has resolved to postpone the scheduled December 9th elections to 12th, 19th, and 26th April 2024, respectively.

“All candidates and members of the Party are encouraged to continue sensitizing and recruiting members to the Party. APPLY TO PARTICIPATE in the April 12th,19th, and 26th 2024 Grassroots Elections by clicking the link- https://app.uda.ke/grassroot or https://uda.ke,” the notice states.

This comes after a section of leaders from Mount Kenya called for the region to be handed the UDA’s Secretary General’s position.
