The Anthony Waithaka Foundation involvement with women and youth groups is causing Makadara Member of Parliament (MP) George Aladwa sleepless nights.
The foundation’s work to empower women in the constituency is making the MP a worried man because the initiative is making its founder Anthony Waithaka aka Makadara 1 who is aspiring to contest for the Makadara seat in 2022 very popular and make inroads.
Aladwa who has neglected women and youth programs in the constituency is protesting against the empowerment project accusing the government of fighting him by giving Waithaka a leeway in the initiative.
The foundation has been able to assist women and youth groups in the constituency get grants and loans through the government and various non governmental agencies.
The former Nairobi has now come out fighting the initiative by spreading propaganda against the program and bullying women leaders of some groups.
