The Member of Parliament for Westlands constituency, Tim Wanyonyi, has donated food items to Muslims in the constituency as they observe Ramadan, a period of fasting in Islam.
Presenting the items at Gachie Bilal Mosque and Kibagare Tawhid mosque, the MP thanked the Muslims for “remaining steadfast and faithful to Allah.”
He charged them to pray for unity, love and peace for the country.
Further, he appealed to Muslim communities to train the youth to channel their energies into community development initiatives.
Wanyonyi said the significance of Ramadan in praying for the country especially as we battle COVID-19.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Muslims who were present, the Gachie Bilal mosque Imam, Yusuf Vudinya appreciated MP and his office for the kind gesture.
He said that the gesture “will go a long way to support them” and that they will always remember him in their prayers for the good work he is doing the constituency.
He prayed for Allah to assist the MP to accomplish all his programs, policies and projects for the constituency.
On his part, the Kibagare mosque Imam Abdullahi Yusuf thanked the MP for his good will gesture and asked Allah to bless him in all his endeavours.
