ZARIKA, KIMARIO BAG WORLD TITLES IN BETIKA ULTRA FIGHT SERIES BOXING SHOW

It was Kenya’s day of glory as two Kenyans won World boxing titles in at the Betika Ultra Fight Series Boxing staged in Nairobi on October 27th, 2023, Friday night.
The Kenyans Fatuma ‘Iron Fist’  Zarika and Albert Kimario won their titles as the nine bouts card, promoted by Maurice Odera of Ultra Fight Boxing Series and sponsored by betting firm Betika lived up to their billing of offering entertaining fights staged at BroadWalk Mall in Parklands.
Zarika floored her Tanzanian opponent Fatuma Omari in the fourth round via a Technical Knock Out (TKO) to successfully retain her World Boxing Federation (WBF) World Super Featherweight title in the 10 round fight.
“Thanks to the fans who turned up in large numbers to cheer me up to victory and sponsors Betika, Ultra Fight Series Boxing promoter Maurice Odera and the Kenya Professional Boxing Commission (KPBC) for enabling me make a comeback in the ring after a two year absence,” said Zarika.

In another world title fight on the card, Kenya’s 21 year Kimario was crowned as the new World Alliance Boxing Association (WABA) Intercontinental Super Bantamweight champion and by outpointing Grey Chimkwapulo of Malawi.
Kimario beat Chimkwapulo 98-92, 100-90, 100-90 in the ten round fight to hit two birds with one stone by also winning the Pugilist Syndicate of Tanzania (PST) belt.
“Am very much excited for winning my first title belt in professional boxing career and looking forward to retaining my titles and ultimately bagging the World Boxing Council (WBC) that’s my dream belt. Thanks to Ultra Fight Boxing Series promoter Maurice Odera and Betika for offering me this sporting chance,” said Kimorio.
The WBF President Howard Goldberg, graced the occasion, and expressed his gratitude to the promoter and the sponsors for supporting professional boxing and staging a world class fight.
“We will continue to offer fans and boxers these type of contests in the boxing. Tonight’s action is just a tip of the iceberg of what Betika will being on board,” said Betika’s Deputy Managing Director and Group Chief Finance Officer Mutava Mutua

1.WBF Super Featherweight World title, 10 rounds

Fatuma Zarika of Kenya won on TKO fourth round against Fatuma Omari of Tanzania.

2.WABA Intercontinental  Super Bantamweight/Pugilists Syndicate of Tanzania (PST) titles, 10 rounds

Albert Kimario of Kenya won 98-92, 100-90, 100-90 against Grey Chimkwapulo of Malawi.

George Onyango of Kenya won on TKO second round against Isaac Mushi of Tanzania.

4.Cruiser weight, 6 rounds

Joshua Wasike of Kenya won 60-54, 58-54, 58-54 against Ignatius Onyango of Uganda.

5.Lightweight, 6 rounds

Gabriel Ochieng of Kenya won 58-56, 60-55, 55-59 against Nick Otieno of Kenya.

6.Super Bantamweight, 6 rounds

Nicholine Achieng of Kenya won on TKO first round against Valentina Aciro of Uganda.

7.Super Flyweight, 6  round

Wilson Olumbe of Kenya won on TKO second round against Davis Ariiho of Uganda.

8.Welterweight, 4 round

Bob Turyatemba of Uganda won 40-35, 40-36,40-35 against  Dennis Otieno of Kenya.

9.Light Welterweight, 4 rounds

John Juma of Kenya won 39-35, 37-38, 39-36 against Douglas Kalule of Uganda.
