Zarika Makes Boxing Ring Return in Betika Ultra-Fight Series World Show

Former World Boxing Council (WBC) World Super Bantamweight champion Fatuma “Iron Fist” Zarika makes a return to defend her World Boxing Federation (WBF) Super Featherweight title.

The former World Boxing Council (WBC) World Super Bantamweight champion slug it out with Tanzanian, Fatuma Omari Yazidu in the Ultra-Fight Boxing Series Boxing promotion on Friday, October 27 at Broadwalk Mall, Parklands, Nairobi
“I had taken a break from boxing to do soul searching and weigh my options in regard to my life and boxing career owing to the challenges being faced in the ring. Eventually, I decided to make a return with even my fans demanding that I come back. I am now back and back with a bang. Expect entertainment and fireworks from my iron fist blows on Friday night,” said Zarika.
The 38-year-old Zarika, 38, last fought on November 13, 2020 to win the vacant WBF World Super Featherweight belt in Tanzania over home girl Patience Mastara.

Zarika has 48 fights under her belt: 33 wins – 18 knockouts, 13 losses and two draws, while Yazidu has 31 bouts: 20 wins, 10 losses and a draw.

In another world title fight lined up in the Ultra-Fight Boxing Series Boxing promotion Albert Kimario of Kenya will on the night meet Grey Chimkwapulo from Malawi for the vacant World Alliance Boxing Association (WABA) Intercontinental Super Bantamweight title.

The two title bouts sponsored by betting firm Betika to a tune of Ksh4 million are set for 10 rounds each which will be supported by nine non-title fights.

Ultra-Fight Boxing Series founder Maurice Odera said 11 bouts will be on the cards, featuring boxers from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Malawi.
